I'm currently waiting for my enlistment. Just graduated from SP
(diploma with merit). I am looking at the SMS scheme and preparing
to send my application. But its kinda confusing.
SMS (Combat) -
You will study at renowned overseas universities or military
academies like United States Military Academy at West Point, the US
Air Force Academy, the US Naval Academy and the Australian Defence
Force Academy, to name a few. After completing your studies, you
will serve in the SAF as a combat officer.
SMS
(Engineering) - You will pursue an engineering degree
at renowned overseas universities. Upon your return, you will serve
in the SAF as a military engineering officer.
I wish to pursue Chemical Engineering, which means i cannot be
under the SMS ( Combat ) ?
If i'm under Combat, I must study at the above mentioned uni
?
What is the difference with military engineering officer and combat
officer ?
And I went for Cdo VA this feb, so if i'm posted to Cdo, i will
most likely be stuck with Cdo in future ? As i've heard from others
that Air Force is better ( less chiong sua )
Hope you guys can share some insights on this.
